A stain on your clothes doesn't mean the item is ruined. Most stains come out easily if you treat them properly before they set.
Press a clean cloth firmly onto the stain to absorb excess liquid. Rubbing pushes the stain deeper into fabric fibers.
Cover the stain completely. Allow 5-10 minutes. Rinse with cold water — never hot, which sets stains permanently.
Wash normally with laundry detergent. Inspect before the dryer — heat locks in anything remaining.
Silk, wool, and dry-clean-only fabrics require gentler cleaning methods.
